Peterson accused of injuring another son

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who is facing charges in Texas for child abuse in an incident involving a 4-year-old son, has been accused in a separate incident involving another 4-year-old son, KHOU-TV in Houston reported Monday.

On Friday, Peterson was indicted by a grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. That led to the Vikings deactivating him for Friday’s game, but he was reinstated on Monday.

Now there is a report of a second incident. KHOU reported that it obtained information revealing that Peterson is accused of injuring another son while disciplining the boy.

The 4-year-old son in the incident reported Monday is by a different mother from the alleged victim in the publicized case that led to Peterson being deactivated.

The second incident allegedly occurred last June, according to the report, and took place while the boy was visiting Peterson.

The TV station report said a photo that was allegedly texted by Peterson to the boy’s mother showed a wound on the boy’s head with bandages on it.

Peterson issued a statement Monday after he was reinstated in which he apologized for the incident in which he was charged on Friday, saying he is “without a doubt, not a child abuser.”
