Richmond, Nanita lift 51s past Colorado Springs

Scott Richmond pitched five shutout innings, and Ricardo Nanita hit a grand slam to lead the 51s to an 8-4 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a Pacific Coast League game Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Richmond (11-7) allowed six hits, issued no walks and struck out six.

Yan Gomes, one of four Las Vegas players with two hits, drove in the game’s first two runs with a first-inning sacrifice fly and a third-inning single.

Gomes led off the sixth inning with a double and scored on Kevin Howard’s triple to put the 51s (78-62) up 3-0.
