Shealy drives in seven as 51s roll

Ryan Shealy hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs Sunday to power the 51s to their fifth straight victory, a 10-4 win over the Salt Lake Bees in Salt Lake City.

The 51s led 3-0 when Shealy, Las Vegas’ designated hitter, connected off Salt Lake reliever Matt Meyer with two out and the bases loaded in the fifth for his 10th home run of the season.

Shealy, who had three hits, drove in two runs in the 51s’ three-run first with a two-out single and knocked in another run in the seventh with a single when Las Vegas scored three times to take a 10-4 lead.

Darin Mastroianni and David Cooper also had three hits each for the 51s, who collected 17 hits off three Salt Lake pitchers.

Cooper raised his Pacific Coast League-leading batting average to .377.

P.J. Walters pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs to improve to 8-7. He walked three and struck out four.

Efren Navarro led Salt Lake with three hits, including his 12th home run.
