Sprinklers come on during MLS match — VIDEO

The sprinklers came on in the middle of a Major League Soccer match between Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Sporting Park.

Amid conspiracy theories that the sprinkers were turned on by a Buffalo Wild Wings bartender, Sporting Kansas City sideline reporter Jake Yadrich uncovered the truth.

“As it turns out, one of the groundskeepers had the app that controls the sprinkler system accidentally open on his phone,” Yadrich said. “And he accidentally grazed the button in his pocket, hence turning on the sprinklers.”

The match was halted for about a minute of stoppage time.
