Emi Leong rolled a 566 series Tuesday at The Orleans to help Tech’s girls bowling team capture its third straight Division I-A state title with a 9-0 win over Boulder City.
Elisa Loden rolled a 203 in the opening game for the Roadrunners, who have won 39 consecutive matches.
“It feels good,” Tech coach Randy Michalik said. “You’ve got to give the girls a lot of credit for staying motivated. It’s very easy to slip into moderation, or whatever. But they were motivated from the beginning of the year.”
In the boys Division I-A final, Chaparral’s David Galvan rolled a 249 game in a 645 series to help the Cowboys to a 9-0 win over Boulder City.
Chaparral rolled an 803 as a team in the first game and never looked back.
“I’m just so proud of them,” Chaparral coach Cynthia Ziegler said. “They went through a lot last year and this year. I’m just so happy because they deserved it. They’re such great kids.”
In Division I boys, Arbor View swept Palo Verde 9-0 to win the Sunset Region championship. Cameron Collins posted the day’s highest series in any division with a 666 for the Aggies.
Coronado topped Green Valley 7-2 in the Sunrise Region final. Austin Signoretti rolled the highest single game total with a 278 in the third game for the Gators.
In Division I girls, Shadow Ridge defeated Centennial 7-2 in the Sunset Region championship.
Silverado, the two-time defending state champion, swept Liberty 9-0 in the Sunrise Region championship. Megan Philippi rolled a team-best 625 series for the Skyhawks.
