Lady Rebels fall short to Brigham Young in MWC opener

The UNLV women's basketball team led Brigham Young 40-39 at halftime, then shot just 25 percent in the second half, falling to the Cougars 75-64 in Provo, Utah.

In the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams, BYU (9-5) shot 50 percent in the second half, opening with a 7-0 run to take the lead for good. Jazmine Foreman led the Cougars with 19 points, and Coriann Fraughton had 15 points and 13 rebounds.

UNLV's Kelli Thompson tied her career high with 25 points, but she was the only player in double figures for the Rebels (7-8).
