RANKING THE REBELS: 53 – Larry Moffett

53 LARRY MOFFETT

Years: 1976-77

Career highlights:

■ Averaged 8.0 points and 9.2 rebounds and shot 54.2 percent from the field in his only season.

■ A key member of the "Hardway Eight" team that put UNLV on the map as a nationally prominent program. Moffett and teammates Reggie Theus, Glen Gondrezick, Eddie Owens, Robert Smith, Lewis Brown, Sam Smith and Tony Smith led the Rebels to a 29-3 record and a spot in the 1977 NCAA Final Four.

Quotable: "If Moffett didn't break his nose in the second half, we would have beat North Carolina in the Final Four. I went without a big man. He was a great shot blocker. He's the one who made it a great team." -- Jerry Tarkanian, former UNLV coach

After UNLV: Played one season in the NBA after being drafted in the second round by the Houston Rockets.
