BYU trounces Rebels, 55-7
Final: Brigham Young 55, UNLV 7. The Cougars were all over UNLV from the beginning, outgaining the Rebels 516 yards to 144 in registering the convincing victory. BYU quarterback Jake Heaps completed 19 of 31 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. The Rebels dropped to 1-8, 1-4 in the Mountain West Conference. This is their final meeting with BYU (4-5, 3-2) before the Cougars leave the conference for football independence. UNLV avoided the shutout when quarterback Caleb Herring completed a 24-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Marcus Sullivan with 41 seconds left.
