Junior college defensive tackle commits to play at UNLV

UNLV is receiving much-needed help for its defensive line, picking up a commitment from a junior college defensive tackle who will play this upcoming football season.

Jason Fao (6 feet 1 inch, 305 pounds) committed to the Rebels, and will have three seasons of eligibility. Long Beach (Calif.) City College, his JC, tweeted out news of the commitment.

Fao will have to walk on when he arrives in August, but is expected to go on scholarship. The tweet said he will be a scholarship player.

He originally signed with Texas-El Paso, but wound up playing at Long Beach last season. He made 57 tackles, including 14½ for loss and six sacks.

The Rebels could use immediate help from Fao. They came out of spring practices with more concerns over the defensive line than any other part of the team.
