UNR coasts, claims No. 2 seed in WAC

RENO -- Luke Babbitt scored 29 points to spark UNR to a 79-68 victory over Louisiana Tech in the teams' regular-season finale Saturday.

The Wolf Pack (19-11, 11-5) wrapped up the No. 2 seed for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in Reno and will play seventh-seeded Idaho in the first round Thursday.

Brandon Fields and Armon Johnson added 13 points each for UNR.

The Wolf Pack tied New Mexico State for second place in the WAC, but gained the tiebreaker by sweeping the season series against the Aggies.

Magnum Rolle had 22 points to lead Louisiana Tech (22-9, 9-7), which finished fourth in the WAC and will play fifth-seeded Fresno State in the first round.
