Utah knocked off by upstart Seattle

SALT LAKE CITY — Charles Garcia had 24 points and eight rebounds as Seattle, back in Division I for the first time in 29 years, upset Utah 77-74 on Tuesday night.
Seattle (3-2) overcame a 41-33 halftime deficit and led the Utes (2-2) for the final eight minutes.
• Texas Christian 108, Texas State 99 — At Fort Worth, Texas, the Horned Frogs (4-2) needed triple overtime to dodge an upset bid by the Bobcats (1-5).
• Brigham Young 107, Southern 51 — At Provo, Utah, Jackson Emery had 16 points to lead the Cougars (4-0) over the Jaguars (0-4).
• Colorado State 79, Mayville State 42 — At Fort Collins, Colo., Dorian Green’s 17 points paced the Rams (3-2) in a rout of the Comets (4-4), an NAIA team.
