West Virginia rides power, pitching to baseball sweep over UNLV

Jimmy Galusky went 5-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, and BJ Myers pitched seven strong innings to lead West Virginia to a 9-4 win over UNLV in a nonconference baseball game Sunday at Wilson Stadium.

Myers (2-0), a sophomore right-hander, held the Rebels (1-5) to one unearned run on three hits and one walk and struck out four as the Mountaineers (5-1) swept the three-game series.

KC Huth went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for West Virginia, which held a 14-6 edge in hits and scored three unearned runs on four UNLV errors.

Rebels starter Kenny Oakley (0-2) gave up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and one walk and struck out five in five innings.

Payton Squier went 2-for-3 and was the lone UNLV player with multiple hits. Justin Jones, Vince Taormina and Austin Anderson each had a double and an RBI for the Rebels.
