Wranglers on seven-game homestand

The Wranglers begin a stretch of seven home games in 10 days starting against the Ontario (Calif.) Reign at 7:05 p.m. today at the Orleans Arena.

Las Vegas (20-9-3) leads the Pacific Division with 43 points and Ontario (11-22-1) is last with 23.

The Wranglers also will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, 2:05 p.m. Sunday and 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, and the Bakersfield Condors from Jan. 21 to 23.

Wranglers forward Jamie Bates, who shares the team scoring lead with Ryan Huddy with 31 points, was loaned to San Antonio of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Left wing Blair Riley was returned to Las Vegas.

Bates was on a seven-game goal-scoring streak and 10-game point streak. Huddy also has a 10-game point streak and leads the Wranglers with 17 goals.

Several Las Vegas players are out with injuries, including forwards Dan Bertram, Matt Price and Ned Lukacevic, defenseman Aaron Power and goalie Michael Ouzas (11-3-1, 2.24 goals-against average). All except Lukacevic are expected to return during the homestand.

Joe Fallon (9-6-1, 2.68 GAA) will start in goal today for the Wranglers.
