Wranglers top Idaho in shootout, 4-3

Mitch O’Keefe stopped five of seven shots in the shootout and four players scored shootout goals for the Wranglers en route to a 4-3 shootout win over Idaho on Friday night in Boise.
Las Vegas product Bryce Reddick scored at 16:11 of the third period to tie it 3-3 for the Wranglers (6-11-1, 13 points), who erased deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2.
Justin Mercier scored in the fifth round of the shootout to tie it 2-2 for Idaho (9-5-3, 21), but Matt Tassone and Jeff May answered with back-to-back goals for Las Vegas. O’Keefe, who had 26 saves in regulation and overtime, stoned Brock Montgomery and Anthony Nigro to seal the win.
The Wranglers, who went 3-5-1 in their nine-game stretch away from home, will host Bakersfield on Friday at the Orleans Arena.
Geoff Irwin, who had a goal and an assist for Las Vegas, scored on the power play to tie it 1-1 with 19 seconds left in the first period.
Adam Hughesman scored on the man advantage to tie it 2-2 with 2:42 to go in the second.
Brett Robinson scored midway through the first for Idaho, Brock Montgomery scored midway through the second and Mitch Wahl midway through the third.
