Man in critical condition after northwest Las Vegas crash

An 82-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being run over by his own vehicle in the northwest valley Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The man’s vehicle was not placed in park on the 8700 block of West Gilmore Avenue before he exited his car about 4 p.m. The vehicle rolled backward over the man, and he was crushed by his front tires, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. C.J. Jenkins said.

The man was taken to the University Medical Center, Jenkins said.
