Brio Tuscan Grille at Tivoli Village, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 180, plans to host a grand opening celebration and charity reception for Aid for AIDS of Nevada from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

For a donation of $25, guests can preview the menu and enjoy complimentary vodka martinis. A raffle with prizes, such as a spa package, a semester of classes from Kidville, Penn & Teller tickets and lunch and dinner at Brio for a year, also is planned. Blindconnect to host blindfolded meal at Texas Station

Blindconnect plans to host Blind Date, a dining in the dark experience, at Texas Station, 2101 Texas Star Lane, May 5.

Guests will experience a three-course meal while wearing blindfolds. Blind and visually impaired ambassadors will be at each table to provide helpful hints and share blindness information. A silent auction and presentation of the described video “Angela’s House” also are planned.

Blindconnect is a nonprofit organization that provides referrals and peer support to blind and visually impaired Southern Nevadans.

Tickets are $50 each. The deadline to register is Thursday.

Carl’s Jr. partners with March of Dimes, Las Vegas 51s for fundraisers

Carl’s Jr. locations across the Las Vegas Valley are collecting donations for the March of Dimes through May 23.

Any customer who donates $1 will receive a special cutout to sign and display, along with food coupons. Last year Carl’s Jr. raised $40,000 for the organization, which supports research, awareness programs, local hospitals and families affected by the outcomes of premature births.

Carl’s Jr. also is partnering with the Las Vegas 51s baseball team. Wine Walk will feature a variety of wines at 20 different tasting stations through the Village and live entertainment.

Asian-influenced menu

Gordon Biersch Brewery restaurants plan to serve a Maibock menu, complementing Maibock beer and the Mai Tai cocktail, for a limited time.

Maibock is a classic German handcrafted lager and is Gordon Biersch’s traditional celebration of the arrival of spring.

The menu is inspired by Asia and Hawaii and features appetizers of teriyaki Kobe slilders, garlic edamame and the Pacific Rim combo, which allows guests to try the sliders, shrimp and chicken potstickers, edamame and breaded shrimp with sweet chili sauce. Entrees include Asian chicken salad, Hawaiian Kobe burger, Asian orange chicken, ponzu salmon, udon noodle bowl and Hawaiian rib-eye, which is accompanied by mashed potatoes, grilled pineapple and vegetables. Desserts include banana spring rolls with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces.

The menu is available through May 15.

thursday happy hour menu

Nove Italiano inside the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, is featuring a new $7 small plates menu during its Thursday happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m.

Happy hour specials are available in the bar and lounge and include specially priced cocktails and wines by the glass. Cocktails include the Pomagranita, with Ketel One Oranje, POM, Pama liqueur and simple syrup; and the Mango Italiano, with Tuaca, sweet mango puree, basil, fresh lime and Prosecco.

The small plates menu has prosciutto di parma sliders with a side of skinny fries, Tuscan panzanella salad, margherita pizza, Nana’s meatballs, Federal Hill calamari, beef carpaccio, bucatini carbonara, trio of bruschette, rock shrimp polpette and Malpeque oysters al forno.

Ricardo’s fundraises with all-you-can-eat tacos and frozen margaritas

Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant, 4930 W. Flamingo Road, announces an all-you-can-eat tacos and frozen margaritas promotion for $25 per person, with $10 going back to the charity of the patron’s choice.

Ricardo’s also plans to donate $1 to charity for every record-breaking recipe margarita that is purchased through May 31, in celebration of the restaurant’s World’s Largest Margarita event, in which Ricardo’s broke the Guinness World Record with a 7,627-gallon margarita.

To take advantage of the all-you-can-eat offer, purchases must be made in the cantina, and the offer is not available in conjunction with happy hour or discounted specials.
