A Whole Heap of Do-Goodin’ for the Las Vegas Community

The local lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has preserved the history of Southern Nevada while guiding the Helldorado celebration for nearly 80 years.
But the event is more than the sum of its many parts.
Any profit made from the week of festivities and fun goes to helping those who deserve it the most.
That’s right, the whole kit ’n’ caboodle is donated to programs benefiting youth, health and veterans programs.
Since the event’s inception in 1935, Helldorado Days has enabled the Elks Lodge No. 1468 to donate more than $4 million to a variety of community projects including educational resources, scholarships, drug awareness , veteran services and youth activities.
In addition to its other landmark efforts, the Elks are expanding their charitable giving this year with Cowboys for a Cure! in a partnership with the Southern Nevada chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help fight breast cancer.
