BREAKING: PETA Will Picket Bellagio To Protest Siegfried and Roy; Will Teri Hatcher and Other Stars Field Questions About Controversy?
February 27, 2009 - 2:03 pm
As I said in my story today, PETA is challenging Siegfried and Roy to donate their tigers to a sanctuary built for animals to roam. Now, PETA tells me protesters will march with signs outside Saturday night's Siegfried and Roy performance.
In an email, PETA promises to converge on the Bellagio as the duo stages their "Final Act of Careers Built on Forcing Big Cats to Perform Stupid Tricks."
Starting at 4:30 p.m. outside the hotel, protesters plan to hold signs reading, "Retire the Tigers" and "Make Animal Acts Disappear."
Will celebrities in attendance answer questions on the red carpet about the protest? Stars slated to metaphorically cross the protest line to walk the red carpet inside the hotel from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. include Teri Hatcher, Danny DeVito, Hilary Duff, Frank Gehry, Wolfgang Puck, Todd English, Jean-Philippe Maury, Martin Heierling and Robin Leach.
