Centennial Buick GMC service consultant counts on her integrity

Centennial Buick GMC Service Consultant Cheryl Glenn usually arrives at the dealership at 6:30 a.m., and generally doesn't leave the store until about 11 hours later.

However, the 28-year veteran of the car business wouldn't have it any other way as she continues to guide and counsel customers as it relates to service needs.

Glenn started in the automotive industry in 1982 working as a dispatcher at a Canoga Park, Calif., Nissan dealership.

"I actually ended up in the car business by somewhat of a mishap," explained Glenn. "I had wanted to be a paramedic but hurt my knee and needed surgery. The owner of the dealership was a retired paramedic, and he offered me a job working in his service department while I recovered. When I learned that my knee would no longer allow me to work in the medical field, I stayed at the dealership."

Glenn learned at the dealership that there was special sense of satisfaction in helping people, much like in the medical field.

"In either field, you can help ease people's concerns during what might be tough times," said Glenn, who has lived in Las Vegas for 10 years. "I look as customers as family and friends and would never give then advice that I would not use myself. I think my customers sense that, and that's why I have such a high clientele. There is a true sense of commitment in their well-being, and they know it.

"You must be there for your customers all the time, and not just today."

Glenn believes in the product she services.

"General Motors has some beautiful, well-built vehicles," she said. "The company stands behind its product."

Glenn's customers are quick to praise her.

"I have been going to Cheryl for five years," said Trish Gower, who now owns a Saturn Aura. "She knows her stuff, and I can trust her. I always know that she's going to tell me the truth."

Debra Dailey, a paramedic who owns EMS Training Center, brings her 2009 GMC Yukon to Glenn for service.

"She treats us like family," Dailey said. "She is very good at follow-up and I enjoy the way she treats me when I come there. She treats me like a friend and always knows me by my first name."

Members of the Centennial Buick GMC dealership praise Glenn.

"Cheryl is excellent at what she does," says Centennial Buick GMC Mazda Service Manager Bill Buckley. "She is great with customers, and she is great with her follow-up work with her customers.

"Most importantly, she does what she says she will do and when it comes to the Customer Satisfaction Index, her customer skills are unparalleled in the business. She cares about customer service."

General Manager Jan Sheinfeld adds, "Cheryl is one of the best advisers in the industry in Las Vegas. She is very well versed in her product knowledge, and always goes the extra mile with customer service. That is why her CSI is so high."

Situated at 6501 Centennial Center Drive, Centennial Buick GMC Mazda is part of the Super Store Auto Group.
