Children’s museum offers special admission

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum will offer visitors reduced admission on Thursday, Sept. 9.
Guests will be charged $2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum at 833 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Regular admission is $8.50 for adults and $7.50 for children.
Current exhibits at the children’s museum include “Maze Mania” and “Growing Up with the Berenstain Bears.” There also are many ongoing hands-on activities for children of all ages. Special events will be added on Thursday to celebrate the anniversary.
Lied Discovery Children’s Museum was founded by the Allied Arts Council and Junior League of Las Vegas in 1984 and opened at its present location adjacent to the Las Vegas Library Sept. 9, 1990.
Another special day is planned at the museum on Saturday, Sept. 11, when active members of the military, police, fire and emergency medical services will be admitted free with proper ID along with as many as six family members.
