Couple buys 2013 Elantra GT from Planet Hyundai Centennial

Ernie Crossley and his wife, Annette, fell in love with their car buying experience recently at Planet Hyundai Centennial in the northwest valley. In fact, the couple was so happy with their purchase of a 2013 Elantra GT that her father showed up at the dealership two days later to buy a four-door Elantra Limited.

"She loved the car right from the get-go," said sales consultant B.B. Bussey, a 13-year veteran of the car business. "The Elantra GT has excellent power, and Annette really liked that."

Ernie Crossley, who stands 6 feet 4 inches, loves the fact that he can ride comfortably in the driver's seat.

"I can slide the seat all the way back and there's still room in the back for people sitting behind me, and that's a first for me," Crossley said.

"We also wanted to have the four doors along with a hatchback, which makes it easier when going shopping. In addition, it's great for our two large golden retrievers. One of the dogs is over 100 pounds and the other is 90. This car fit all our needs, and it has plenty of power. Every time Annette gets in and drives, you cannot get the smile off her face."

Crossley said the performance of the 1.8-liter, four-cylinder, 148-horsepower engine is very impressive.

"Annette's Ford Mustang that we traded in had a big V-6 and we were lucky if we got 19 miles to the gallon," Crossley said. "With the Elantra, we get 40 miles to the gallon, and the power in the Elantra is unbelievable." Crossley said the Elantra GT also handles very well.

"As my wife said, it really sticks to the road. The inside of the GT is much quieter than the Mustang, too."

The 2013 Elantra GT has been out only a month and has been selling very well, according to the dealership. The Elantra has been a top-seller; the addition of the GT provided more cargo space, since it's a hatchback. Hyundai also recently introduced the Elantra Coupe for anyone who wants a two-door model.
