Las Vegas residents Arlene and Dick Krupa believe so highly in the Hyundai automobile that the couple recently purchased two new vehicles for their children at Planet Hyundai Centennial in the northwest valley.
Daughter Laura Walker, who lives in San Bernardino, Calif., flew to Las Vegas to pick up her 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe compliments of her parents. Her brother, Rick, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, flew to Las Vegas to pick up his 2012 Santa Fe several days later.
“I am a special education teacher and coach in Southern California,” explained Walker, who travels all over the state of California as part of her job. “I also have a special needs son who goes everywhere with me, so I needed a vehicle that was not only economical but safe, too. The Santa Fe fills all of those needs. I’m still in shock that I have been given such a wonderful vehicle.”
Walker received a call from her mother about a week ago telling her that she was going to receive a new vehicle.
“My parents called me on the cell and I was in class at the time,” she said. “I actually told my mom that she must have the wrong number. I didn’t believe that it was actually my mom on the phone at the time and told her goodbye. I almost hung up the phone before finally realizing that it was actually her on the line. I asked if I could call her back because I started crying. My students were really concerned about me. I couldn’t talk.
“I answered the phone during class because I was worried that something was wrong,” she said. “My mom is a cancer survivor, so I was worried about her.”
The Krupas had researched vehicles extensively for their children.
“I looked at everything,” said Dick Krupa, who is the nephew of legendary jazz drummer Gene Krupa. “Our sales consultant, Todd Fowler, was great helping us especially after we had come to the dealership so many times. We went to other dealerships and always came back to Planet Hyundai Centennial. The Hyundai Santa Fe had everything we wanted for our children.
“I drove the Santa Fe and it drove just as good as our 2007 Lexus RX 250 SUV,” he said. “The Santa Fe rode smoothly and had lots of power. We researched everything about the Hyundai and loved what we discovered.”
Arlene Krupa added, “I feel that I’ll sleep better at night knowing that our daughter will travel to Las Vegas to see us in her new Hyundai. It was all about safety and I don’t have to worry about her anymore.”
All Hyundai models come with a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty along with a five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Planet Hyundai dealerships also include Planet Hyundai Sahara at 7150 W. Sahara Ave.
