John and Cristina Schroeder did their homework when looking for their first home in Southern Nevada. After looking at dozens of new neighborhoods and communities across the valley, they selected Pulte Homes’ Paseo at Madeira Canyon neighborhood.
The Paseo at Madeira Canyon is situated along the southern foothills of Henderson between the Anthem master-planned community and the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area.
A total of 20 one- and two-story models, representing six collections of homes, are available ranging from 1,580 to 3,799 square feet and priced from the $330,000s.
The homes offer two to five bedrooms, two to 31/2 baths, and a two- or three-car garage. Options are available to expand each of the floor plans.
John Schroeder, an automation technician with Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand, said the couple didn’t start seriously looking for their home until they had been in Las Vegas for more than a year.
“Once we felt that the time was right, we proceeded to look everywhere,” John Schroeder said. “Originally, we were ready to buy a home on the western edge of town, but I wasn’t overly happy with how things were progressing with that builder. We then consulted with a Realtor and told him what our wish list was for a new home. Our Realtor acknowledged that all the features we wanted in a home would be difficult to find in our set price range, but he encouraged us to visit Paseo at Madeira Canyon. He said ‘Drive up there, look at the community and tell me what you think.’
“We did and as soon as we drove into this community we know our search was over,” John Schroeder said.
The Schroeders chose Plan 1729 in the Aragon Collection at Paseo at Madeira Canyon. The single-story home features three bedrooms and two full baths in 1,729 square feet.
“We loved the openness and spacious feel of this home, with a huge great room, great master suite and large secondary bedrooms,” Cristina Schroeder said. “The architecture of the Plan 1729 is beautiful — it’s a convenient single-story design — and we were thrilled to find out that it was available on our favorite home site, which gave us a permanently unobstructed view of the entire Las Vegas Valley. It is absolutely stunning, especially at night.”
The couple they were pleased with the services they received from the Pulte staff after purchasing their home.
“We had very few items that needed just minor attention, yet everything was taken care of in a very timely manner,” John Schroeder said. “In fact, the customer service people were more eager to find things that needed attention than we were. Everyone we dealt with was absolutely phenomenal.”
Amenities of the 487-acre Madeira Canyon community include walking trails and an arroyo. Also planned for the area are a park with sports facilities and playgrounds and an elementary school.
Pulte homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology and include blown-in cellulose insulation and dual-pane, vinyl-framed, low-emittance windows.
Additionally, Pulte Homes offers its Signature Standards, which includes numerous brand-name amenities as standard features, according to the builder.
They may include granite surface or Corian countertops, York heating and air-conditioning systems, Mohawk flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Moen faucets, Kohler plumbing fixtures, General Electric appliances, Schlage door hardware, Sea Gull lighting and Zodiaq natural quartz surfaces, according to the builder.
