David Monte’s NY Pizzeria dishes up Italian favorites and more thanks to Kabob Corner

The key to finding Kabob Corner, a fresh Mediterranean cuisine restaurant at 5585 Simmons St., is to pay attention to the fine print on the glossy advertising flier distributed throughout Centennial Hills and North Las Vegas. There are no signs outside bearing Kabob Corner’s name or logo. That’s because it’s inside David Monte’s NY Pizzeria.

In addition to chicken fingers, along with traditional and boneless wings with more than a dozen sauce options, the restaurant offers burgers, subs, cheesesteaks, salads and pasta. And recently, the pizzeria’s menu was expanded to offer Mediterranean dishes. Kabob selections include grilled chicken and beef kabobs. There’s also lula kabobs, made from grilled ground chicken or beef mixed with herbs. The menu also offers Mediterranean-style pork chops and lamb chops.

Kabob Corner plate prices range from $9.99 to $15.99. All plates are served with basmati rice, salad, grilled vegetables and pita bread. The kabobs are cooked fresh, which can take 15 to 20 minutes. But the wait is worth it, as the meat comes out flavorful, aromatic and tender.

Not up for Mediterranean food? There’s always pizza. From the chicken ranch pie to the Spanish pizza with pepperoni, meatball, bell peppers, American cheese, jalapenos, onions and cilantro, there is something for everyone. Those who need to feed a crowd may find their food match in the giant pizza, a 28-inch behemoth designed to feed eight to 10 people.

Vegetarians won’t find any options on the Kabob Corner side of the menu, but the pizzeria menu is packed with salads, pastas and vegetable dishes.

Those who order for pickup or delivery miss out on the restaurant’s spacious dining room decorated in warm woods, bricks and tiles and featuring theatrical lighting mounted in an open beam ceiling. The dining room’s plentiful tinted windows look out on the restaurant patio, which can be seen from the street at the corner of Ann Road and Simmons.
