DINING: Cooking demonstration, charity pancakes, viewing party

  A free public cooking demonstration is scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 26) at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Las Vegas, 1451 Center Crossing Road. Chef Philippe Guiet, a native of France who is an instructor at Le Cordon Blue Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute, will demonstrate the preparation of Poulet Saute Chasseur, which is sauteed chicken with mushrooms and tomato sauce.   Hash House A Go Go is celebrating National Pancake Week with special pancakes created by KVVU-TV Fox 5 anchors. Two dollars for each order sold of the special pancakes, which will be available through March 7, will be donated to Best Buddies. Arran Andersen’s creation is “My Pancake is Berry Berry Good,” with blueberries and white chocolate; Monica Jackson’s is “SAW-C,” with strawberries, apples, white chocolate and cinnamon; Rachel Smith’s is “Rachel’s Banana Bonanza” and has bananas, cinnamon, brown sugar and whipped cream; and Jason Feinberg’s is “Itchy & Scratchy’s Coco-Cocoa Kitty,” and contains coconut, cocoa and chocolate. The pancakes are $8.95 and are available at the 6800 W. Sahara Ave. location from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily and at the Imperial Palace location at 3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. …
  Marche Bacchus, 2620 Regatta Drive, will have a viewing party Wednesday (March 3) for the broadcast of the Food Network show “Throwdown! With Bobby Flay,” on which Marche Bacchus chef Jean Paul Labadie will be appearing as a guest judge. The episode was filmed near Reno at the Squeeze In, self-proclaimed home of the “best omelettes on the planet.” The viewing party will include free appetizers and a Champagne toast.
