Joe and Rhonda Pierro have created an award-winning Mediterranean restaurant that includes a gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian menu. The restaurant’s signature entree is pomegranate chicken, where marinated chicken is topped with pomegranate glaze and walnuts. Other popular dishes are spanakopita, mousaka, stuffed green peppers, kefedes (meatballs with mint, parsley, oregano, bread crumbs) and Papous Pasta, tomato sauce simmered with tuna, olive oil, garlic, and onions. Homemade soups include lentil, avgolemono (lemon, chicken, rice) and pumpkin mushroom. Several salads are Greek, pomegranate chicken with spinach and Greek pasta. There are skewers (salmon, lamb, vegetables), gyros and Mediterranean wraps filled with romaine, chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, red cabbage, basmati herb rice, feta and yogurt dill or hummus sauce. Several appetizers include falafel (vegetarian meatballs), dolmades (ground beef or vegetables in grape leaves), veggie pizza and saganaki, Greek cheese served on a flaming iron skillet. Desserts include Aphrodite’s Cheesecake with a baklava crust and Stella’s Honey Cake. Market Grill Cafe on West Lake Mead is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The location on North Durango Drive is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
