PICK OF THE WEEK:
THE DINER AT LVM RESORT
Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort,
8175 Arville St. at Blue Diamond Road,
263-0146
The LVM Resort is a "hotel" for motorcoach travelers. It's quite lovely, and among the amenities is a '50s-style diner open to the public with checkered tile floors, a jukebox, booth seating and a menu that reflects a quintessential American eating experience. Among the sandwiches are BLT, turkey Reuben, corned beef or pastrami on rye, tuna melt, grilled chicken, Philly cheese steak with Cheese Whiz or provolone, half-pound hamburgers, patty melt, and the club with turkey, ham, bacon, avocado, Swiss and pesto mayo. Breakfast items are two eggs with sausage, bacon or ham steak, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, and bagel and lox with cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes and capers. Diner specialties include Chicago-style hot dog, fish and chips, Polish kielbasa and Vienna beef corn dogs. Popular salads are chef, Caesar, Cobb and Greek, and all can be made with grilled or crispy chicken. There is always chili and a soup of the day. Don't leave without enjoying a root beer float. Breakfast begins at $4.99 and sandwiches at $5.99. The Diner is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
