Eco-friendly lawn mowers still available as part of county exchange program
It’s not too late for residents to trade their gas-powered mowers for eco-friendly ones being offered as part of Clark County’s lawn mower exchange program.
The county said it still has a few hundred mowers available. The grant- and donation-funded 2009-10 program is geared toward improving air quality.
Residents can obtain applications on a first-come, first-served basis between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the county Department of Air Quality & Environmental Management’s offices at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, and Henderson City Hall, 240 S. Water St.
Qualified applicants can receive a voucher for an eco-friendly, 14- or 19-inch Neuton electric mower for $99 and $199, respectively.
