Elvis’ blue shoes at center of mystery

Salt Lick, Texas is “All Shook Up” over the upcoming celebration of Elvis Presley’s birthday. But somebody is going to be doing the “Jail House Rock” if a certain pair of famous “Blue Suede Shoes” that have mysteriously disappeared doesn’t show up soon. So “It’s Now or Never” when the Domestic Equalizers are called in to help!
Dixie Cash’s latest book, “Curing The Blues With A New Pair Of Shoes,” catches readers up on the antics of Debbie Sue Overstreet and Edwina Perkins-Martin, otherwise known as the Domestic Equalizers, as they scurry around trying to figure out who would be crass enough to take the King’s shoes.
Hogg’s Drive-In was one of Elvis’ favorite stops when he was touring early on, so naturally the owners wanted to remember their favorite customer on his birthday with a huge celebration. Judd Hogg even managed to borrow a genuine pair of Elvis’ blue suede shoes. What was expected to be a small-town affair suddenly grew into an overnight sensation with thousands of fans bearing down on little Salt Lick to honor their beloved Elvis. But the big party could be spoiled unless Debbie and Edwina can find those missing shoes.
The girls try to keep their investigation discreet, but when two reporters Avery and Sam, from competing Metroplex (that’s Dallas/Fort Worth for you non-Texans) newspapers show up to do stories about the Elvis extravaganza, Edwina gets a little sidetracked as she plays matchmaker for the two, while Debbie tries to find the missing footwear and run their Styling Station salon too.
With Elvis impersonators galore, a visit from the Flying Elvises, and a romantic answer to the mystery of the day, readers won’t have to make a trip to “Heartbreak Hotel” to find a hunka-hunka “Burning Love” for “Curing The Blues With A New Pair of Shoes."
Thank ya … thank ya v’ry much.
