ENTERTAINMENT: Rod Stewart tries a bit harder
We posted the Rod Stewart review today since it won't run in the Neon print edition until Sept. 2. (That's still only halfway through his engagement, because of the way the dates are spread out.)
As the luck of seating assignment would have it, I sat next to Melinda Newman, longtime Billboard writer more recently of MSN.com. She said I had to use the comment about the band coming off like a house band on one of the late-night shows, so I did.
