ENTERTAINMENT: Tropicana gets a ‘Deal’

What’s behind Curtain No.3? The Tropicana.
CBS announced today that its relaunch of “Let’s Make A Deal” will begin production from the Tropicana on Sept. 15, to air beginning Oct. 5.
Wayne Brady is the host, so for a time it seemed the show might tape in The Venetian theater where he performs. But “Deal” will bring a needed boost to the Trop, a faded property that changed hands July 1 and is getting a $100 million renovation under new chief executive Alex Yemenidjian.
The producers will build a permanent set and studio inside the pavilion space that recently housed the Titanic exhibit (which moved to Luxor). The studio audience will seat about 300 people.
Those who already have their banana costumes ready should register for tickets through cbs.com. The Trop will soon have have a ticket booth just for “Deal” on the casino floor and will establish a system for distributing remaining tickets to those who did not preregister, hotel spokeswoman Brittany Markarian says.
