Family chooses two-story La Luna home at Tuscany

Vincent Rabago, his wife, Rachelle, and 8-month-old son Rockwell recently moved into Rhodes Homes' Tuscany Residential Village in Henderson.

"I'm a small business owner and work long hours. It's nice to come home to a place that has a five-star resort feeling," Vincent Rabago said.

According to Rachelle Rabago, "We wanted something up-and-coming for the right price. We are a new family and we wanted a place where my family and neighbors could share in the amenities."

The couple, who were childhood friends, left rainy Seattle in 2003 for the Las Vegas desert landscape, settling in a rental condo located near the Palms resort.

"We chose Las Vegas for its low cost of living and opportunity for business growth," Rachelle Rabago said.

The couple held their wedding at Lake Las Vegas two years ago and then began searching for a home.

"We were interested in the master-planned community and it's close to our work," Vincent Rabago said of Tuscany.

The Rabagos found the La Luna I Model 3042, a two-story home named for its square footage, after seeing the Rhodes Ranch billboards and determining that Tuscany Residential Village was closer to their workplaces in Henderson.

"We wanted a home that we could grow into and live in for 10 years. Our son is still young and is learning to use the stairs. Our home has a middle landing area, which makes this easier for him," Rachelle Rabago said.

The Model 3042 home features four bedrooms and three baths, including a matching bath for children, plus a three-car garage.

"The desert landscaping pretty much maintains itself. And there are small community parks scattered here and there," Rachelle Rabago said.

Vincent Rabago owns Signguy, a sign shop in Henderson. Rachelle Rabago, a software engineer, works for YellowPages.com. Coming home from work "feels like I'm on vacation when I'm spending time at the newly opened recreation center," Vincent Rabago said of the 35,000-square-foot La Vita Tuscana facility.

La Vita Tuscana is a $10 million facility with outdoor lap and lagoon pools, indoor full basketball court, two racquetball courts, full workout facility, billiards room, two meeting rooms and multiple activities offered for kids, according to sales agent Jimmy Crosswhite.

The Rabagos said they were also impressed with the security at Tuscany.

"The guarded gate provides extended security. They always call to make sure who's coming to your house and they don't allow solicitors," Rachelle Rabago said.
