Collision Authority has entered into an agreement with Findlay Automotive Group to lease and operate a body shop at 3024 E. Fremont St.
The body shop is situated on the site of the former Findlay Oldsmobile dealership, which launched the automotive group into the business locally in 1961. A ribbon-cutting ceremony May 7 attracted automotive executives along with dignitaries who have lived in Southern Nevada for many years.
“This is a tremendous development for all involved,” said Michael Spears, a co-owner of Collision Authority who first worked for Falconi’s Body Shop in 1991, before becoming a full partner in 1999. “Not only does this give us another location, but it also provides Findlay Automotive Group with a newly remodeled body shop for each of its dealerships.”
Findlay Automotive Group Chief Financial Officer Tyler Corder explained that the company reached out to Collision Authority.
“We have been doing business together for many years,” Corder said. “We actually started talking about the idea 10 to 12 years ago. Collision Authority has taken over the management while also adding an extensive remodel. We just decided that the body shop business wasn’t our expertise and they were our first call.
“It’s important that we have a body shop that we trust when it comes to taking care of our customers and Collision Authority is a quality body shop,” he said.
Equally as important was that Collision Authority hired Findlay’s existing staff of 29 employees.
Founded by the late Bill Falls, Collision Authority now has six locations and one satellite office in Southern Nevada. The company also includes Vicki Dessaints, a longtime member of the company who became the third partner in 2005.
Findlay Automotive Group’s new and resale dealerships in Southern Nevada include Subaru, Chevrolet, Kia, Honda, Toyota, Cadillac, Fiat, Audi, Land Rover and Volkswagen. It was founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff Findlay, now spearheads new and resale dealerships in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Idaho.
