Findlay Honda Henderson has joined forces with Findlay Cadillac as presenting sponsors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light the Night walk set for Nov. 3 at Kellogg Zaher Park at Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue.
Findlay Honda Henderson General Manager Scott Ramer is the walk’s corporate chairman.
Findlay Honda Henderson leads the event each year with a group of employees . Findlay Cadillac also has a strong involvement in the event with some 20 employees participating.
Findlay Cadillac’s Felicia Butland, who serves as marketing coordinator, customer service director and business development manager, expects a strong participation from the Findlay Cadillac group.
“This is important because you never really know if or when it will affect you or someone directly or indirectly,” said Butland, who has worked with Findlay Cadillac for about four years. “When you think about Findlay Automotive Group, it’s always these people who step up to help others no matter what the cause .”
“Light the Night is a memorable night where walkers join together to help find a cure for blood cancer,” Ramer said. “The walk raised over $250,000 last year. It’s a national walk in cities all over the nation.”
Ramer praised his staff, adding that the group raised more than $10,000 for the event last year.
Findlay Automotive Group Chief Financial Officer Tyler Corder serves as the board president of the Leukemia &Lymphoma Southern Nevada chapter.
“Our dealerships are really jumping on board to support this wonderful cause,” Corder said. “We have known so many people who have been affected by blood cancers that it makes it fulfilling to raise funds to help find a cure.”
Registration for this year’s event will begin at 4 p.m.; the walk will follow at
6:15 p.m. A remembrance for those who have lost their lives to cancer will be presented at 5:15 p.m.
