Former Ms. Senior Nevada gets new Hyundai

Energetic Marilyn Faye O’Leary is a former Las Vegas entertainer who performed in “Hallelujah Hollywood” and “Jubilee!” at the former MGM Grand from 1978-1981.

A full-time resident of Southern Nevada since 2007, O’Leary and her husband, Ken, bought a silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS from Centennial Hyundai in the northwestern valley.

“I had been driving a 1999 Lexus ES,” the 2010 Ms. Senior Nevada said. “I love the new Hyundai Sonata because they turn on a dime, they are fast and have a comfortable beefy ride. You can feel the car underneath you. I feel safe in the Sonata as well.

“The interior is beautiful and the Sonata is mechanically sound,” she said. “We have instant heat, instant air and it’s very roomy with plenty of head room.”

O’Leary said that working with the Centennial Hyundai staff was a good experience.

“We had a lease on another vehicle and the dealership wouldn’t release us, so I came down to Centennial Hyundai. We were met by sales consultant Dave Shakely, who assured us that he could get us out of the lease of the Nissan,” she said.

The O’Leary couple purchased the Sonata before the 2014 models came out. The vehicle gets 28 to 34 miles to the gallon on regular fuel.

“The Sonata air conditioning is ice cold during the summer,” O’Leary said. “In addition, it has the great safety feature, remote start, which allows me to start the car before I get there. The air conditioning already has the car cooled down when I get in it. It’s unbelievable.”

The warranty was also a big selling point for the couple.

“We’re covered from front to back,” O’Leary said. “The 10-year, 100,000 mile power train warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty is unbeatable. We’re very happy with how this all turned out.”

Centennial Hyundai is at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwestern valley. It is part of a locally owned operation that also includes Planet Hyundai Sahara at 7150 W. Sahara Ave. and Planet Hyundai Used Car Superstore at 7100 W. Sahara Ave.
