Friendly Ford sponsors Red Rock 5K

Friendly Ford is sponsoring the Oct. 8 Red Rock 5K, one of the most scenic 5K races in Las Vegas. This 5K route spans the Arroyo Golf Course at the Red Rock Country Club. Race time is 8 a.m.

The Red Rock 5K benefits After-School All-Stars Las Vegas and provides opportunities for underprivileged youth to participate in free after-school programs that focus on academics, athletics and cultural enrichment. Local programs include tutoring, homework help, language and literacy skills, arts and crafts, dance, music, computers, chess, creative writing, soccer, swimming, cooking and media.

Since it’s inception, After-School All-Stars has positively affected the lives of more than 100,000 Southern Nevada youth. Today, there are more than 6,000 youth from 15 different schools participating in the program.

Entry fee for the 5K charity walk is $25 and $30 for the race. Prizes will be award to the top five in each age division, per gender.
