Henderson Hyundai begins makeover

To celebrate its eighth anniversary, Henderson Hyundai is getting a makeover.

The fast-growing dealership on Boulder Highway in the heart of Henderson is undergoing two phases of renovation, according to owner Frank Maione.

"I felt it would best serve our loyal customers to replace our small, old, no AC, 10-bay service building with a 20,000-square-foot, 25-bay, fully air-conditioned and modern state-of-the-art facility," Maione said, referring to the $4 million in upgrades.

Phase One of the dealership's transformation focused on the service department and customer lounge. In October, Maione committed to Phase Two, which will feature a new showroom and be completed in the spring, thus labeling Henderson Hyundai as the newest and one of the largest Hyundai sales, service and parts dealerships in Nevada.

"We set out to buck the trend of Clark County economic conditions by spending millions to complete this renovation," Maione said. "As we enjoy Hyundai's rise to the top, we are also helping by employing nearly 100 workers and subcontractors during construction. All this while most are pulling back or standing pat."

Hyundai is quickly gaining a significant share of the imported car market in America today. And, according to Maione, sales levels have more than doubled from a year ago.

"Here in Henderson, we are selling twice as many cars as last year," said Mike Colliani, Henderson Hyundai's general sales manager. "While others are shrinking, we are putting up a building that points to an optimistic future. We love it here in Henderson."

Henderson Hyundai carries all the top Hyundai models, including the innovative 2011 Sonata Hybrid (recently named as a finalist for the 2011 Green Car of the Year), the new U.S.-built Elantra and other high-performing models like the Accent, Sonata, Tucson and Genesis.

Keep in mind the award-winning Sonata broke into the prestigious list of the top-five selling cars of 2010. The new 2011 Hyundai Sonata has also earned the distinction of AutoPacific's first-ever President's Award for the highest-ranked premium midsize car.

"The new Sonata also marks the beginning of Hyundai's 24/7 new-model plan," Maione said. To meet consumer demand, Hyundai is committed to seven new or renewed products every 24 months that will include all new 40-mpg Elantra, Accent, Sonata Turbo, Sonata Hybrid, Velociter and Azera.
