Insights from a former brothel madam

  Curious about what goes on behind closed doors at Nevada’s brothels?
  Author and former madam Laraine Russo Harper relates her experiences in her memoir, “Legal Tender: True Tales of a Brothel Madam.” Harper worked for six years as the madam of a well-known brothel in Pahrump and shares her insight into the women who sell themselves, the men who pay for services and the unique challenges of managing the business that brings these people together.
  Harper will be signing copies of her book and speaking to readers from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Erotic Heritage Museum, 3275 Industrial Road.
  On Monday, Sept. 22, our own Geoff Schumacher will interview Harper about her years running a brothel from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. A book signing will follow the presentation.
