Noting juhl for architecture that “is one of the most aggressive the downtown community has ever seen,” Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman singled out the mid-rise project emerging on the corner of Bonneville Avenue and 4th Street for providing “a place to live, work and play in the downtown area.”
The occasion was a Chamber of Commerce luncheon last month, as Goodman addressed a crowd of 600 with a mention that seals the centrality of the live/work lofts’ development to the renaissance in retail, entertainment and creative residential growth in the new downtown.
Juhl has reached the 14th story in its construction and will bring 341 residences ranging in design from mid- to high-rise lofts, townhouses, flats, warehouse lofts and penthouses. The development will provide recreational and social facilities and 24,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
John Eisele, juhl sales manager, thanked the mayor for the accolades, acknowledging Goodman and the City Council’s role in changing the face of downtown.

The mixed-use mid-rise is located within a few blocks of the Fremont Street Experience, the Fremont East District and the planned 61-acre Union Park project which will house the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute and Surgical Training Academy, which will teach surgeons throughout the world how to utilize new cutting edge medical technology. Plans for this section of downtown also include the World Jewelry Center, which will offer 150,000 square feet of consumer retail shopping space within a 50-story building.
