Actress Christa Campbell never stays in one place very long. But soon, whenever she stays in Las Vegas, it will be in her new townhouse at CityMark Development’s juhl in the heart of downtown.
Campbell, who has co-starred in feature films alongside Nicolas Cage, John Travolta, James Gandolfini, Christian Slater, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ving Rhames, recently finished shooting a movie in the state of Washington one day and flew back to Hollywood for the premiere of another movie the next — at the same time contemplating a possible new role that would take her to New Zealand.
She appears in the horror remake “Day of the Dead,” which opened earlier this month, and in the action flick “Hero Wanted,” due out later this month.
“I’ve been acting my whole life, and sometimes I feel like a gypsy with all the traveling,” said Campbell, whose primary residence is in Los Angeles. “Frequently, I’m in Las Vegas for events and special appearances, and I wanted a place that offered convenience, style, security, low maintenance, and a good investment. Juhl was the real deal.”
Planned for move-ins this summer, juhl will provide 15 stories on the downtown skyline and is tailored to home buyers seeking a walkable lifestyle within reach of all of downtown’s new dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural destinations.
“Downtown is really the up-and-coming place, and I wanted to get in early before everything takes off,” Campbell said. “This is the best time to buy. I’ll be able to walk to the Fremont Street Experience and all the great new clubs and restaurants in the Fremont East District. I’ll also have access to several convenient shops located in the building right downstairs from my place. I’m very excited about juhl.”
Campbell said that she was particularly attracted to juhl’s floor-to-ceiling windows and the gourmet kitchens with deluxe stainless steel General Electric appliances, granite slab countertops, maple cabinetry and island counters. She also said she appreciates the high-speed Internet access.
“I looked into several other downtown developments, and juhl impressed me the most with its modern design and upscale amenities,” she said. “In addition to all the appointments in the home itself, it was very important to me to have 24/7 security, a doorman, a swimming pool and fitness center. I can’t travel anywhere without knowing that I’ll have a top-notch fitness center to use.”
Campbell selected a third-floor, one-bedroom townhouse at juhl which includes a 72-square-foot balcony. She took advantage of the many upgrades available through Creative Touch Interiors to individualize her new home. In her kitchen, she added China Green granite with a custom Beach Glass tile backsplash. She also selected travertine tile as well as carpeting to complete her flooring.
Located at the corner of Bonneville Avenue and 4th Street, juhl’s nearly completed live/work/play urban environment is the buzz of downtown. More than 100 one- and two-story floor plans are available, offering a variety of warehouse lofts, mid-rise and high-rise lofts, townhouses, flats, and penthouses.
The one- and two-bedroom interiors are sized from 730 to 2,200 square feet, with styling that includes exposed mechanicals and concrete surfaces. A private patio or balcony is included in every home.
Prices start from the high $300,000s.
Juhl’s amenities will include a fully equipped two-story fitness center, rooftop courtyard with 75-foot swimming pool and spa, and gated underground parking.
Also part of the juhl lifestyle will be 24,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Some of the stores expected to contribute to the neighborhood atmosphere include an urban coffee house, gourmet eatery for take-out and delivery, and a boutique beauty salon.
The juhl Information Studio is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Monday when it opens at noon. Exit Interstate 15 at Charleston Boulevard and head east. Turn left on Grand Central Parkway, right on Bonneville Avenue and proceed to 255 E. Bonneville.
