L.A. firefighter convicted of beating woman who fed cats

A Los Angeles firefighter was convicted Thursday of beating a woman who was feeding cats in their neighborhood.

Justin Eulian, 39, was found guilty after two hours of jury deliberation of one count of battery with serious bodily injury and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, CBS Los Angeles reported.

Eulian approached the victim’s car and yelled at her in the West Adams neighborhood. She threw kibble at the off-duty engineer, CBS LA reported in 2013, and he slapped the 47-year-old woman multiple times.

He allegedly then pulled her out of the car and punched her. Eulian and his mother, Lonieta Fontaine, reportedly drove her home and told her she slipped and hit her face on the car.

Surveillance cameras caught the incident, leading to Eulian’s arrest.

The woman was known for feeding stray cats, according to CBS LA, but neighbors didn’t complain about her.

Eulian faces seven years in prison.
