Jennifer Joaquin always knew she’d pursue a career that had something to do with automobiles. As a youngster, she used to watch her dad work on cars.
After a short stint at a couple of local dealerships in the Las Vegas area as a receptionist and service cashier, Joaquin accepted a position six years ago in the parts department at Lexus of Las Vegas.
After three years there, she moved on to the accounting department and then, after another year and a half, became a delivery specialist, explaining onboard computer features of vehicles to new Lexus owners.
In September, Joaquin became a sales agent and recently earned her master certification from Lexus in sales.
“I’m a people person and love talking about Lexus vehicles with customers,” Joaquin said. “I also like showing customers all the features in their new cars, which are very user-friendly.”
One feature that Lexus offers customers is destination assist, a feature in which a live person comes through the navigation system and helps a driver with directions to specific locations.
“Lexus knows what they are doing in regards to their automobiles and customer service,” Joaquin said. “Lexus is not just another luxury brand. We care about our customers.”
Joaquin emphasized that besides English, she is fluent in Spanish and eager to help Hispanic customers interested in learning more about the Lexus product line.
“Even if people aren’t ready to buy a car, I’m here to help them and answer any questions they might have,” Joaquin said. “All they need to do is come in and ask to see me, or call and make an appointment.”
The Lexus of Las Vegas dealership is at 6600 W. Sahara Ave. For information, visit www.lexusoflasvegas.com or call 702-942-6600.
