‘Lost’ IRS email: How did the White House know?

As the case of the “lost” IRS email continues to get curiouser and curiouser, let’s focus on another odd statement from the new Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen.

In testimony before Congress on Monday, Koskinen was asked about how the White House knew about the “lost” email before Congress knew.

Koskinen said, “I didn’t tell anybody. I was advised. I had no one I was going to tell.”

Yet somehow the White House knew before Congress.

I’d like to know by whom Koskinen was “advised” not to tell anyone about the “lost” email. And why. Once it was known that the email was “lost,” why wouldn’t you scream it from the tallest building — first toward Congress and second toward the White House? That’s such a weird statement by Koskinen.
