ManhattanWest mixed-use project emerges in southwest

ManhattanWest will host the grand opening of its new sales center and model residence today from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature model tours, 3-D animated renderings of the project, New York-style food and drinks and musical entertainment by Ivan Kane’s 40 Deuce Band.

Chief Executive Officer of Gemstone Development Alex Edelstein will deliver presentations at 1 and 3 p.m.

The mixed-use condominium development will feature 700 residences, 150,000 square feet of office space and 40,000 square feet of retail shops and restaurants on 20 landscaped acres, just west of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, on Russell Road, in the southwest ern region of the valley.

Grading is already underway and the first phase is scheduled for completion in 2008.

“We are pleased to unveil to the public for the first time what we have been developing for the past three years,” Edelstein said. “Visitors to our sales center will experience a taste of what life will be like at ManhattanWest.”

A full-sized model residence showcases views from around the project, as well as the wide range of options and upgrades available to residents.

The sales center’s fully equipped coffee bar, representative of the on-site coffeehouse and wine bar planned for the mid-rise, will provide beverages for guests of the event.

According to the developer, the mid-rise and its 700 residences are inspired by the architectural diversity of classic New York streetscapes.

The project centerpiece will be the nine-story Element House, built of glass and steel.

In addition to 73 specialty residences, the Element House will include a ninth-floor lounge with rooftop pools and panoramic views of the Red Rock mountains and Strip, a full kitchen and dining room, 7,000-square-foot fitness center, billiards room, theater, guest units, business center and additional club facilities for all residents throughout the community.

The development’s outdoor recreation and social amenities will include a pool with swim-up bar, waterfall and shaded grotto. The outdoor area will offer a central barbecue pavilion with refrigerated storage, ceiling fans and sound system.

Exterior areas will include four specialty gardens, including a Zen garden for meditation, sculpted of sand and stone. A putting green, grass volleyball court, basketball court and performance amphitheater will round-out the project’s outdoor amenities.

Residences will range from 554 to 1,900 square feet and include studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units and lofts.

Standard features include granite countertops, stainless steel Whirlpool appliances and Kohler fixtures.

Element House residences include upgrades such as six-jet shower towers and built-in iPod docks. Residences at ManhattanWest start in the low $200,000s.

To reach the Sales Center take I-215 to the Russell Road exit west. Head south on Frontage Road, turn right on Oquendo and turn right into the Desert Canyon Office Park.
