Ok, so Sen. Reid spoke with President Obama and Rep. Pelosi on health care, and seemed pretty confident congress will get something done on the issue.
But did he speak with Max Baucus, D-Mont.?
The Hill reports Baucus isn’t so keen on the public option:
"Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., said the draft of his panel’s health care bill released today doesn’t include a public-option component for one sole reason — a lack of Senate support, either in his committee or the chamber as a whole. "It would not pass the full Senate," Baucus told The Hill when asked why his draft prefers insurance co-ops. "There are not enough votes in the Senate for a public option."
