More Sandoval appointments

Gov.-elect Brian Sandoval on Thursday announced three more appointments and reappointments to state jobs in business development, personnel and taxation.

Sandoval will appoint Terry Johnson to Director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry and reappoint Teresa Thienhaus as Director of the Personnel Department and Dino DiCianno as Executive Director for the Nevada Department of Taxation.

Johnson’s previous jobs include Director of Administration in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, Director of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation and Assistant Business Advocate in the business and industry department in the Office of Business Finance and Planning.

Thienhaus is a former Senior Deputy Attorney General for the state of Nevada. DiCianno is a former deputy director of the department with 10 years of experience in the Division of Assessment Standards as the Supervisor of Centrally Assessed Properties.

Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, has awarded 30 new grants to researchers at 18 leading institutions in the U.S. and Canada. The $14 million in grants support the organization’s mission to end breast cancer through funding two key focus areas: research to better detect and treat stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer and research to eliminate disparities in breast cancer outcomes.
