MORNING LINE: Mad scramble continues in Rizzolo case
January 30, 2009 - 8:50 am
Exiled topless bar mogul Rick Rizzolo’s unwillingness – or is it inability – to pay $9 million to Kansas tourist Kirk Henry continues to haunt him. Through his attorneys, Rizzolo and family members are scurrying to avoid giving depositions in the case. Rizzolo previously agreed to pay Henry $10 million after the tourist was paralyzed, allegedly by Crazy Horse Too thug Bobby D’Apice, back in September 2001.
The reluctance to make good on his debt – especially after being spotted gambling with both fists at resorts on the Strip – figures to reverberate throughout his life in the coming months. Here’s my prediction: Not only will he end up paying, but he’ll end up being the man responsible for hurting his ex-wife, Lisa, son, Dominic, one of his favorite lawyers, and a certain ex-politician he had his arm around for a decade.
Pay now, or pay a lot more later. And time is running out.
