New releases for week of July 14

  “Best Friends Forever” by Jennifer Weiner: When Valerie Adler moves across from Addie Down when the girls are 9 years old they become best friends. Their friendship is tarnished during their teen years though when Val becomes a member of the elite and Addie an outcast. Fifteen years later, tragedy reunites the young women, and the bonds of a once-so-strong friendship will again be tested.
  Another summer read coming out this week is “The Best of Times” by Penny Vincenzi. After a truck causes a miles-long pileup, survivors wait for help: a cheating husband trapped with his mistress, a widow on her way to reunite with a lost love, a bridegroom on his way to the church, the truck driver who can’t remember what happened and a hitchhiker who knows exactly what happened but has fled the scene. All their stories unfold in this tale about the ripple effects of disaster.

Carter; “The Lost Summer” by Kathryn Williams; “Rain Gods” by James Lee Burke; “Sacred Hearts” by Sarah Dunant; “Swimming” by Nicola Keegan; and “Undone” by Karin Slaughter.
