Officer narrowly escapes injury in icy road crash — VIDEO

A police officer in Michigan narrowly escaped serious injury after a car crashed into the officer and another vehicle during a weather-related accident.

A Bloomfield Township officer had stopped to assist a driver along Interstate 75 on Saturday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The dashcam on the officer’s vehicle shows another car spinning out of control on the icy highway and slamming into the stopped vehicle. The impact threw the officer into a ditch.

He was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries and later released.

The driver that crashed into the car was ticketed for reckless driving.
