Planet Hyundai gets new Internet, business directors

Two former automobile business development and Internet executives who worked in Austin, Texas, have assumed similar positions with Planet Hyundai Sahara.

Together, Daniel Albers and Ryan Tamburro have a combined total of more than 25 years in the car business and are now running the business development and Internet departments for the dealerships’ new and preowned vehicles departments.

“We are now the No. 1 dealership in the West for new vehicles along with being No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in the Western Region for certified preowned vehicles,” said the 31-year-old Tamburro, a native of Round Rock, Texas, who has lived in Las Vegas since 2012. “The expansion of the existing Internet and BDC departments is done with the ultimate goal of being No. 1 in the nation in both new and CPO sales.”

Both departments are vital to success in today’s automotive climate.

“Fifteen or 20 years ago, nobody had the Internet at their disposal,” Tamburro said. “People would drive from one dealership to the other to find their vehicle, whereas today the majority of car buyers do much of their research online in most cases. It’s easy now to compare different brands side-by-side, and today’s buyers are educated when they enter a dealership.”

Tamburro also stressed that the evolution of the Internet has also created a 24-hour atmosphere.

“That’s absolutely true,” Tamburro said. “When you’re in the car business today and especially involved with Internet sales, you’re on the computer constantly to make sure you can capture every sale.”

In particular, Albers brings six years of Internet experience with him from his days in Texas along with one year in finance.

“Daniel is a very believable and sincere person,” said Tamburro of his colleague. “By this time next year, our goal is to be not only No. 1 in the Western Region but also No. 1 in the United States for new Hyundai sales.”

Albers is equally excited about the expansion.

“The majority of people that are looking to buy a car usually go to the Internet first,” said Albers. “A lot of the process can be done on the phone and the Internet so all they have to do is show up and drive their new car while going through the final stages of buying a car.”

Albers said going through the Internet helps expedite the buying experience.

“It’s so much easier to buy a vehicle nowadays,” said Albers, 29. “Some people simply don’t like the old process of walking onto a car lot; and the new way of doing business is so much more comfortable.”
